Today I am thankful for the soft buzzing noise that I hear every evening when our neighbors outside light turns on...I remember hearing it every night ever since I can remember, it's constant buzzing, sometimes annoying but yet awesomely reliable. This song is the song that started my addiction to music, I remember finding it amazing that a song could mean so much, that just one song could make me stop and think, that one line in a song could move me so much...anyways I had forgotten about this song until I heard it playing in a house I was babysitting at and remembered how I would listen to this song twice a day for weeks, and then how I slowly stopped listening to Switchfoot altogether...but now I'm back to listening to them everyday! ;)

Well hello people...what's up?
It's been forever hasn't it?
life's been awesome, I could just tell you everything that's happened lately but if you read this blog you'll already now everything that has...and that would just be boring wouldn't it?
Please ignore my horrible hair and the fact that I look totally out of it...what you should be looking at is that watch...it's a necklace, my favorite necklace EVER! :) but now it's broken and it makes me want to cry, I should have know this would have happened since it's common news that I am the very best at losing and breaking necklaces, earrings, etc... but still that doesn't make it any easier does it!?! *sob*

Also...it's been threatening to snow here any day...which makes me kinda sad, since it means winter is here to stay for sure....and all I can say is...man I miss summer....but I'm looking forward to Dec. what with family coming over (CAN NOT WAIT!)...anyways...I hope you have a nice day, unlike me who is logging off to cry under a pillow because everything is going down in flames i.e...my watch it broken and summer is over until next year............

Guess who's birthday is today? That's right it's Ellie's birthday today...it's her Sweet Sixteen, which means that soon she will be able to drive me wherever I want her too, don't you love older sisters that can drive you places...I know I will! ;)

Ellie is one of those sisters who when you want to take a picture of them they don't just stand there and smile, which is a really good thing, because then all I would be posting would be pictures of Ellie smiling.

That wonderful thing called moss...

I LOVE moss. There it's said, I really don't know why I like it so much, maybe because it so very pretty?
I love the way it grows on all the roofs.

and when all the leaves fall off the trees they still look green because of all the moss that's on them.

It even grows in the grass.

It will grow on anything, if you let it. (even on your car)

See the seed thingies, growing out of the moss? We used to use those as pepper in our tacos when we played house when I was younger...and no unlike the mud "cakes" that Ellie and I made, we never ate these tacos.

I would have more pictures of moss, but it was pouring down rain I was wearing flip-flops that were 2 sizes to small, I was wet and I was cold, and I was not about to stay one more minute in the cold rainy gray world outside. But really, how many more pictures could I possibly take?

Amazing muffins

yes, as the title suggests I'm about to show you an AMAZING recipe for some pretty AMAZING muffins...chocolate chip pumpkin muffins to be exact.

I would have pictures but I don't have a camera and besides they were all eaten before I thought of taking a picture.

Pumpkin Muffins - makes 2 dozen

3 cups of sugar 4 tsp. baking soda

1 cup of oil 2 tsp. cnnamon

2 eggs 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

32 oz. can of pumpkin 1/2 tsp. cloves

5 cups of flour* 1 cup walnuts

1/2 cup raisins ( or can do neither and just add 2 cups of chocolate chips)

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease muffin tins. Combine sugar, oil, and egg. Beat until light and fluffy. Blend in pumpkin. In separate boul, combine flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Add to pumpkin mixture. Beat until smooth. Fold in nuts and raisins, or chocolate chips. Spoon into muffin tins.

Bake at 350 or 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

Cool 5 minutes, remove from tins. Cool on wire rack.

at the bottem of the recipe is says, "tested and approved but Luke C. Snider" unlike the recipe next to it which does not say anything which means....He doesn't like it. so whatever! ;)

So what's going on with you? Haven't written in a while once again! ;) I will forever be in awe of those people who somehow are able to write everyday or almost everyday....even those who write once a week.

So anyways, I've been reading Herodotus and come to the conclusion that everyone should read it...it's super long so it would great to read over a long period of time or like me you can take a class and read it in about 4 weeks...but anyway It's by far my favorite history book that I have read so far and my favorite book that I have read for my class so far! :)

So, I just realised that I start almost all my paragraphs with "so." Is that a bad thing? I like to think of it as a good thing, but hey that might just be me...or should I not have drawn you're attention to it since you didn't notice it until I told you? Whatever, I'm sure you would have noticed it anyway! ;)

So, (there I go again!) this last week,(or maybe it was two weeks ago?) Luke, Ellie, and I along with some friends went to anouther ball...It was a "Pilgrim" themed ball...needless to say we once again wore modern formal to it. And here is a picture of Ellie and I...we forgot to get a picture with Luke in it so that's why he's not in it! :) Oh and by the way, Ellie's sweater is NOT blue! :) Just thought I would let you know! :)

So, anyways (and no, I'm not trying to say "so" it's just how I talk, It's not like I'm forcing you to read my blog! ;) Got to go! But it was nice saying hi! ;)

So much for posting more often! :) Well nothing much up with me...other then I had my 14th birthday which was AWESOME...I somehow manged to survive the ordeal of having everybody sing "Happy Birthday" to me...what do you do when you're family does that to you? I just stand there awkwardly and wish I was somewhere else and then it's over and I'm so glad it's over for a whole year! :)

hum...kind of funny, thought I had SO much to say...but I guess I really don't! :)

Well sorry for the short and somewhat boring post! :) But I have to go and try to write a paper on something I haven't decided yet, but fortunately I don't have to have it done until next Friday...and I'll most likely finish it right before the time it's due, and it will be only halfway OK...so I'm trying to change the normal thing for me to do...which is to have a bad paper that I somehow manged to write in 15 minutes! :)
Sorry if none of this makes any sense but I wrote it in about 5 minutes... :)

Really sorry about the lack of any posts this past summer! Busy with a wedding and stuff! I'll be posting more (boring) posts this winter since (hopefully) I'll have more time to do so! :D

What's up with me?

Well I've been taking this AWESOME class called GBT 1 (Great Books Tutorial). I read pretty awesome books like the Iliad (just finished reading it) The Odyssey, Herodotus, Thucydides, Xenophon (say Z instead of X), Plato and, Aristotle. And NO, I do NOT like Hektor (in the Iliad)...it really bugs me how most people will say anything to defend anything Hektor does wrong but don't really care to do that with the other (better) heroes. *end of rant* ;)

I have been trying to get used to (sometimes) being the oldest at home and thus in charge. Which I have found out I don't really like being...but I'm getting used to having to deal with every little problem that the little kids have, and not being able to just send them off to one of the older kids to deal with when Mom is gone. Luke is off to collage and Ellie is starting to learn how to drive and Nathan moved to Idaho and Silas got married, (not that I mind Silas getting married to an amazing person ;). Life is different and I'm not all that sure that I like it...still getting used to everything. I'm sure I'll like it a lot in time...! :)

I have also decided on my favorite Novel of all time! *cue drum roll* North and South by Elisabeth Gaskell! *end of drum roll*

So yeah, Amazingness is not a word...but it is NOW!!! :P I say it all the time because it's an...amazing word! ;)

Just today right before dinner since it was really hot..95 or something...the little kids and I decied we should go in the sprinklers and act like idiots...you can not have fun in the sprinklers unless you act immature...because if you don't then you are left to just walk in and out of the sprinklers and thus you have NO fun!

So because I LOVE taking pictures and because I think posts with pictures make them look more interesting I'm going to add pictures to this post... ;)

I have given up trying to do a post that's without pictures... ;)

Here's a picture of a blossom from the plum tree in our back yard...
I did the, "sharpened," "soft focus," and the, "I'm feeling Lucky" (don't ask me why it's called that but it is) I liked it... a lot.

But then I decided to do the "warmihy" which I usually end up using on all of my edited pictures that I want not to look so crisp and sharp...

And then because I'm really into "sepia" right now I added that, which created this!

And then I decided just to have fun and fool around, and I came up with this,

Totally different! ;) Won't be keeping it this way! :)

On a different note, on Saturday I'm going to walk 4 1/2 miles (I think) for fun with the Family and friends. It's going to be fun I know it is but then again it's at 8:00 a.m. yeah, it will be fun.. lots of sleepy people walking in the morning..And I have been promised some amazing people watching, (last year some one dressed up like the Statue of Liberty)... doesn't that just make you want to dress up too? You know blend with the crowd? Not me! :P

If you do not know what I Bosch is you are missing out in life...(seriously!)...I LOVE Kitchen Aids, don't get me wrong. I think they are THE cuties thing to have in a Kitchen, if I could I would get one just to have on the counter they are SO cute... :D

One of the many reasons I like Bosch's better is because they can make bread, unlike Kitchen Aids...well maybe K.A. can make little batches of bread but we make four loaves at a time which a K.A. can not do... To bad other wise I would beg for one...they come in all different colors unlike Bosch's which only come in Black or White...(One thing wrong with them!) Why the don't provide colors is beyond me! ;)
The kind of bosch we have The Kitchen Aid that I wish could hadle big batches of bread and such..

Hanni's Hair...

....That I did a few weeks ago....I really liked how it turned out....thus all the pictures.... :D

I braided the ribbon with her hair so it made it look really cool, I also did NOT use the same ribbon that I used to braid in her hair to make the big bow....I'm not that good... :)

Thankfully she stood still for all of the five minutes that she promised too and then it was off to sweeping....

Apple Cake.

I made this AMAZING Apple Cake from a recipe that some friends of ours gave me...and it turned out really good...but it tasted better the second day for whatever reason...

So this was my first time using Almond Extract so I was interested in seeing what it looked like...for those of you that have never used before like me, it's clear. :)

So here is the counter that I used, I should have used a different cutting board but I was not thinking and thus it was kinda hard to stir the batter, which now that I come to think of it all I could have just used a different counter...Oh well!! :D

And here it is, right out of the oven...I forgot to take a picture of it after I put powder sugar on it before we ate it all so you'll have to live with out it... ;)

Baked doughnuts.

For parish group last Sunday I made baked doughnuts since the last time had made them they had turned out pretty good.

The reason there were only 24 were because I thought for sure I had not doubled the recipe the last time I made them, but low and behold I must have and I really did not feel like making another batch so thus, only 24 doughnuts...

In the oven, for whatever reason the oven is really clean...must have just cleaned it....

Just out of there pans, I didn't put enough pam on (again) so the bottoms looked really bad...Thankfully no one looked at the bottoms and they were all eaten...

The finished doughnuts...I used the Easy Chocolate Frosting..

Rabbit or Chicken?

Last night we went to a bookstore to find something for mom, nothing happened much cept finding her something... :0 Any way the funny part was when we went into one of the best stores EVER and finding a Rabbit that sounded like a chicken...humm...... there was no way it sounded like anything but a chicken. Ellie and I went away laughing about it.

So this picture has nothing to do with this post at all...This is our BEAUTIFUL dogwood tree in our backyard, believe it or not I took this picture outside our window since it was raining so hard outside...and I did not want to get wet! ;)

Hanni told me to take "death is serious" pictures of us...Humm......what was she thinking!?!
And I was a nice sister and took a few. And thus this picture is a "death is serious" picture.
I still love her even when she comes up with odd ideas! ;)

I did her flash cards with her today in my bed. remind me never to let her do that again. Lets just say my bed is no longer made. :) She also got VERY silly and made me hold the flashcards upside down.

And by the way don't try to tell her what to "trade" means, she won't understand. I spent a long time trying to get her to understand but all my efforts are in vain. I stopped when she started to cry.

A day in the life of, well me...

So I decided to finely do this tag sort of thing that I have been meaning to do for a while, and even throw it's Thursday I'm going to be talking about Tuesday.

7:30 A.M.

I turned off the alarm that some one had turned on and went back to sleep while telling myself to get up since we had piano at 9:30 A.M. and we had to walk. Surprisingly I did not get up...

8:07 A.M.

I dragged myself out of bed finely and got dressed. And thought, "I am SOOOOO glad I don't have to make breakfast today!"

8:30 A.M

Ate breakfast.

8:45 A.M.

Packed my backpack and thought about telling Luke to stop playing the piano and get his bag packed so we wouldn't be late for Piano lessons.

9:00 A.M.

Luke is still playing on the piano and we need to leave in 15 minutes which to you might seem like a long time but not to Luke.

9:09 A.M.

I think about letting Luke know about the time but decide that "A master at work must NEVER be disturbed!!"

9:13 A.m.

Luke looks at the clock tells me and Abie we should have told him the time and then starts to get ready.

9:20 A.M.

We start walking to our Piano teachers house discussing who's turn it is to go first, second, and third. (very deep and hard to find out)

9:30 A.M.

Some how we make just as the clocks turn!!! YAY!

11:10 A.M.

We get out of Piano lessons only ten minutes late and start walking home only to see Mom with the van to pick us up. (we never get out of Piano at 11:00) And I am promised a new piece that SOMEONE rejected called "The Vulture" and also am told to find two out of 190 adjectives that fit the piece that I am playing. (I picked something like Thoughtful and ------)

12:30 P.M. (Or so)

Make lunch and eat it too. ;)

1:00-3:00 P.M.
nothing really happens that's noteworthy.

4:00 P.M.

Start Dinner, we were having "Favorite Brown Rice" (a recipe that Mom made up and that's really good!!! :)

5:00 P.M.

Yell at Ellie to get off the computer and help me get dinner done before Mom and Dad get home.

6:00 P.M.
Finish right as Mom and Dad walk into the door! :D

So that was that everything went fine and I ended up getting to bed at about 9:30 p.m.
Humm....what a busy day that was!

Last week Ellie and I made iced cookies since the boys and Dad wanted some and we let Peter and Hanni put the decorations on them.

This week has been pretty busy what with Peter's 8th birthday, piano, the dentist, and the news about my mom's mom, but the thing that really made me laugh and that "made" my week was today when two boys knocked on our door, Ellie thought that the they were Mormons and made Nathan go answer the door (which he was not very happy about) and what do you think? They turned out to be two good friends of Peter and Abie who had come over to say happy birthday to Peter! It may or may not seem funny to you but it was really funny at the time!:)

Also Hanni told me the other day that she was unable to do her jobs since she was a frog.(she ended up doing her jobs)

Last night I went to see "Fireproof" with some friends of mine.What a blast it was!!!!
So we picked every one up and then drove to the ---- theater were we were told that it had not played in a few weeks, (which was a lie since someone we knew had gone last week)
We looked at the clock which read, 6:30 p.m. and at both theaters it started at 6:35 p.m. So off we went to the next theater that was not five not ten but fifteen minutes away, and we
only had five minutes to spare. And no we did not get there just in time. Not only did we hit about every red light but when we went to get the tickets there was a little problem since the lady thought that My Dad was also going to see the movie but was in truth (which he told her) just buying the tickets. So not only did we miss all the previews (not that we wanted to see them!) but we come in at the part in the movie when they are pulling the car off the train-tracks.And then there was the rather grumpy couple sitting right in front of us who told us to "stop being so loud!!!"(among other things) when we were all crying (we really were not crying very loud!). So I have no idea how much we missed but it was still really good and I really want to see it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Chuck Baldwin is a citizen of the United States of America just like you and me. The difference is that he is not an elected politician offering the same old political answers. Chuck graduated from La Porte High School in 1971 and attended Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan for two years. Since he earned his Bachelor and Master Degrees in Theology, Chuck has received two honorary Doctorate Degrees.

Many conservative political and values leaders have spoken in his church including Patrick J. Buchannan, Pueblo Intelligence Officer Lt. Commander Steve Harris, Congressman Joe Scarborough and Ambassador Alan Keys to name just a few.

Chuck Baldwin is also a radio talk show host and an accomplished author. He moderates a daily, a one hour long call-in show where he addresses current event topics from a conservative point of view. The program is considered to be the most influential voice in the Florida Panhandle for conservative principles. Thousands of citizens are informed and rally to a call to action on issues that are so important to our nation’s future.

Chuck is also a newspaper and internet columnist whose articles and political commentaries are carried by a host of internet sites, newspapers, and news magazines.

He has had the honor of meeting with former Presidents Ronald Reagan and George Bush, Sr. and Governors Bob Martinez, Fob James, Jr. and Jeb Bush. Hello there people!;]

What a wonderful day it has been!(for me;)

For dinner Ellie, Hanni,and I made eggs and muffins for dinner.(Blueberry,Chocolate-chip,and granola,Yum yum;)
